Dr. Gopie

Dr. Prema Gopie is a Sport Medicine Physician experienced in treating a variety of musculoskeletal illnesses. He completed his residency training at McMaster University in Family Medicine and following this pursued a Sport and Exercise Medicine Fellowship at the University of British Columbia (UBC). He also holds a Diploma in Sport and Exercise Medicine as granted by the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine and is an active member of the national organization. 

 

Dr. Gopie is actively involved in teaching musculoskeletal medicine to residents and physicians in both clinical and classroom settings at UBC, McMaster and The University of Toronto. He is also involved in Uganda Sport Medicine, a longitudinal project introducing Sport and Exercise medicine to Uganda through teaching and clinical pursuits. 

 

Optimizing the non surgical care of shoulder, elbow and wrist problems with exercise, medication and ultrasound guided injection is his area of expertise. He has been practicing at the Oakville Shoulder an Upper Limb Clinic since 2018 and is the in house Sport Medicine Physician for the UofT Mississauga Campus varsity athletics program.

 

Dr. Haverstock

Dr. John Haverstock is an orthopaedic surgeon providing surgical care at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital since 2015. His elective practice focuses on shoulder, elbow and wrist surgery.  

 

Dr. Haverstock completed residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Western Ontario and a fellowship at the Roth|McFarlane Hand and Upper Limb Centre.  He teaches residents at McMaster University and is a member of the Canadian Orthopaedic Association, the American Society of Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
