Urgent referrals should be directed to the orthopaedic surgeon on call at OTMH, and faxes are not accepted.

Referrals for shoulder pain and stiffness require an up to date X-ray and Ultrasound of the affected shoulder, if these results are not included in the request, the referral will not be accepted.

Referrals for shoulder instability require an X-ray, and not an Ultrasound.

​

Referrals for elbow and wrist problems should include a history, physical and any available studies.

​

MRI is not necessary and may be ordered after patient assessment.
